This book mixes written history along with mind blowing photographs, of a place I thought I knew a great deal about, but in fact did not. Mary Ann Oberdorf is Shoreham Village historian and cochair of the Shoreham Village Centennial Committee.

Wading River, settled by New Englanders in 1671, is reminiscent of a classic New England town with its steepled Congregational Church, village green, ancient cemetery, horse farms, and colonial homes.
