Over the ages the dogs have changed, but the extravagance never ends. I was not impressed with the stories.

Okay for an afternoon look, but just a skim.|About the Author|Kathleen Walker-Meikle is the author of Medieval Cats and Medieval Dogs for the British Library. She was awarded her PhD in History at University College London and is currently researching animals and medicine in the Middle Ages.

Now neglected and covered in fleas, Argos lay on a dung heap by the stables, but pricked up his ears at his master's approach, wagging his tail and dropping his ears.
